In Loving Memory

It is with both heavy hearts and gratitude that we remember a life so fully lived, a spirit so deeply felt, and a presence that will never truly leave us. Dorothy (Darlene) Romanoski, 72, formerly of Bear Creek, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 28,2026 surrounded by her family.

Darlene was not defined by titles or timelines, but by the way she made people feel—seen, heard, and valued. She carried a warmth that could fill a room without ever demanding attention, and a sense of humor that arrived exactly when it was needed most. Whether through a quick-witted remark, a knowing glance, or a perfectly timed story, she had a gift for turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.

Family was the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She showed up for the people she loved—consistently, quietly, and wholeheartedly. A steady hand in uncertain times, a celebrator in joyful ones, and a listener when words felt hard to find. Her kindness was not loud, but it was unwavering, and she welcomed everyone with open arms, making each person feel like they belonged.

She found happiness in life’s simple and meaningful moments: getting lost in a good book, spending time with her beloved dog, Harley, and creating cherished memories during family vacations in Ocean City. These moments, though simple, were where her love shined brightest.

To know her was to understand that strength and gentleness can coexist, that laughter can be healing, and that love is most powerful when it is given freely and without expectation.

She leaves behind not just memories, but a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in shared stories, in quiet moments of reflection, and in the way she inspired others to be just a little more patient, a little more compassionate, and a little more present.

Darlene was the epitome of love. Her grandchildren Ivy, Ella, and Logan were the center of her life. With a special place in her heart for Brendon, Kelli and Jason Techmanski.

Born on July 23, 1953 in Wilkes Barre she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Raub) George, and one of ten children. Landing right in the middle the George family has remained close throughout the decades. By her bedside of her passing were her sisters Marilyn Artim, Marcia George and brother Robert George and his partner Karen John.

She was preceded in death by her brothers James George, Barry George, Gary George, Buddy George and sister June Marie Gorki. She has numerous nieces and nephews all of which she loved deeply.

She is survived by her beloved son, Ron Romanoski, daughter, Candice Farrell and husband Joe Farrell, her partner, Robert Hermanofski, and her best friend, Debbie Kennedy, brought joy and happiness into her life.

Darlene met her sister Diane (George) Evans at the gates of Heaven who passed on March 31,2026.

We would like to thank the caring staff at Birchwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Nanticoke who truly cared for our mother over the past 4 years, every one of you hold a place in our hearts.

As per her wishes, funeral services will be held privately, where we will have one last "Dining with Dar".
