Rosemarie "Chickie" Cornell

Rosemarie "Chickie" Cornell was born April 4th, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY and passed away at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore on May 14, 2026 with her son by her side.

 Chickie was the only daughter to the late Charles and Frances (Sherrock) Cornell. Chickie attended NYC Public Schools and after schooling, she was employed as a telephone operator by NY Telephone, Ferrara Bros. Concrete in Ozone Park, NY and the NYC Board of Education in Long Island City, NY. While living in PA, she was employed as a Housekeeper by The Woodlands Inn & Resort, the Sheraton Crossgates and the Ramada on Public Square. She had also worked at Jamesway Department Store and finally retired from Walmart Wilkes-Barre after 16 dedicated years of service.

Throughout Chickie's life, she made numerous friends, especially her customers and coworkers of Walmart. Prior to Chickie's recent diagnosis of Interstitial Lung Disease, COPD and pneumonia, she was a resident of River View Nursing and Rehabilitation, Plains Township where she was loved by the staff. 

Chickie will be missed immensely by those who knew her and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Chickie was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise, her 3 older brothers, Charles (Chuck), Ronald Sr., and Harold, an ex-husband Ronald Weber and Herbert (Junior) Rennick and numerous aunts and uncles.

Chickie is survived by her son, Mitchell Rennick, his wife Angelia and four grandchildren, Jameson, Alexandria, Brook and Mitchell Jr., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family in St Charles Cemetery, East Farmingdale (Long Island), NY, where she will be laid to eternal rest with her parents.
