Colleen Ann Hogan, 73, of Trucksville PA passed on to the Great Irish Pub in the Sky, Thursday February 12, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Colleen was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School 1970, College Misericordia 1974 with post graduate studies at Marywood University.
She was a beloved grade school teacher at St. John Baptist de la Salle in Chillum, MD, Wyoming Area Catholic in Wyoming, PA and was a principal at Regis Academy in Swoyersville, PA.
Colleen was hit head-on by a drunk driver in 1997, which ended her teaching career and caused suffering through complications from that until her death. Despite years of adversity and much physical pain, she managed to care for everyone around her by baking cookies, hours long conversations of support (She. Was. A. Talker!) and adding levity just when one needed it. Colleen was a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews and was the information hub of the entire family, keeping us all connected, even through physical distance. She was an enthralling, Olympic-level storyteller to the very end. In her heyday, Colleen was the life of every party, loving caregiver to children and elders, serial dater, animal lover, World's Funnest Aunt, party-supply runner for the nuns, thorn in the bishop's side, and her happiest place was on the beach in her flip-flops or, at the pub or Arcaro and Genell's with her family and friends. She was our wee leprechaun, full of mischief and might, and she lived her life her way to the very end.
She loved us and we love her.
She was preceded in death by, parents, Patrick and Catherine Hogan, an infant sister, Cathleen Hogan, niece, TaeGleHa Buffy James, sister-in-law Marie Hogan, brother, Patrick Hogan, sister, Eileen (Hogan) and brother-in-law Patrick McGowan, and brother, Joseph Hogan.
Colleen is survived by her brothers Eugene Hogan, Wilkes-Barre, William Hogan and sister-in-law MaryJo Hogan, Nanticoke, sister-in-law Sarah James, Folsom, California, sister Patricia Moran and partner Randy Smith, Lansdowne, sister-in-law Patricia Hogan, Cleveland, and many nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank Colleen's close friends at the Trucksville Apartments for so lovingly caring for her and about her these last few years. You are all now honorary Hogans.
A Celebration of Life for Colleen and her brother Joseph will take place in the summer.
In memory of Colleen and her love of animals, donations may be made to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge at bcfanimalrefuge.org and Griffin Pond Animal Shelter at griffinpondanimalshelter.com.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Daniel J Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, Wilkes-Barre.
