David B. Jones

David B. Jones, 68, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 18 2025, at home.

Dave was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Stewart and Viola (Lemke) Jones. He was a 1974 graduate of James M. Coughlin High School. He worked with the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for more than 28 years, retiring as the manager of environmental services.

David was a member of St Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hanover Township and lifetime member of the Triangle Club, Miners Mills, Wilkes-Barre. He was an avid sports fan and was most passionate about cheering on his Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. David also enjoyed astronomy, watching the history channel, and listening to classic rock.

His greatest joys were his family. He was private in his feelings but was a proud father, son, grandfather, and brother to his family. He loved coaching his children with the North End and Heights Little League Baseball for many years. He was also a Cub Scout leader for several years.

Dave will be sadly missed by his daughter, Tanyalee Jones-Martinez and wife LeighAnn, son, Dylan Jones, granddaughter, Sophia, brother, Richard Jones and wife Catherine, sister, Pam Kelly and husband Frank, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 2:00PM from the Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, 451 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.

A Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00PM until the service at the funeral home.
