Emily Oswald

Emily Oswald, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at her home in Florida.

She was born on September 22, 1942, in Wilkes-Barre, to Charles and Elizabeth Evans.

Emily resided in Plains for most of her life, where she worked in various jobs and served and worshipped at Miner Congregational Church, Plains.

Later, she moved to New Jersey and then Florida to assist with the care and upbringing of her granddaughter, Mary.

In addition to being a devoted grandmother, Emily rescued and cared for several cats, including Jake, Elwood, Willow, Sylvester, Veronica, and Sukoshi.

Known for her kindness and sweet nature, Emily was cherished by those who knew her and deeply loved by her family.

She is survived by her son, William; daughter-in-law, Gail; and granddaughter, Mary.

Private funeral arrangements were entrusted to Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service,  Wilkes-Barre.
