Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Matthew J. and Maydell (Smith) Ciupinski.

She attended Kingston High School and worked with Nesbitt Memorial Hospital and later retired after a 47-year career as the Lab Supervisor with the Wilkes Barre General Hospital.

She loved spending time with her family, especially swimming with the lights of her life, Kendyl and Liam.

Karen’s nieces and nephews meant the world to her and loved them like her own. She was a

loving daughter, sister, and aunt to her family. She was truly a special person who loved and cared for her family more than people will ever know. There is a special place in our hearts and heaven for Karen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew J Ciupinski.

She will be sadly missed by her brother, John ‘Jack’ Ciupinski and wife Sally, niece, Kimberly

Ciupinski and companion, Joseph Bradley, nephew, Michael Ciupinski and wife, Jennifer, great niece, Kendyl Onzik, great nephew, Liam Ciupinski, her longtime companion, David Borys Sr., cousins, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurses aides, Tammy and Sarah, who gave exceptional care while at the Meadows Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, Wilkes-Barre.
