Louis F Oeller Jr., 91, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Friday, May 9, 2025
surrounded by his loving family in the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

He attended Wilkes-Barre Area Schools and served his country proudly in the US Army during
the Korean War where he received two Bronze Stars. After retirement, he tended bar locally for many years at the Wilkes-Barre Township American Legion Post #815. The Legion was a second home to him that gave him purpose into his later years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. His biggest goal was to produce the first ripe tomato of the growing season, even if that meant resorting to a bit of trickery. He loved to share his enthusiasm for fishing with his great-granddaughter, Rhiannon, when she was a child. Later, he would never pass up the opportunity to grab pizza and ice cream with all of his great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Casterline Oeller, son Louis F Oeller III, grandson Louis E Oeller, brother Robert Oeller, and sister Joan Hannon.
He will be sadly missed by his granddaughter Amy Koss and husband Jason, daughter-in-law Donna Oeller, and great-grandchildren Rhiannon Koss, Conner Brizzy, Collin Brizzy, and Charlotte Oeller.
