Margaret M. Smith

Margaret M. Smith, 93, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away peacefully September 14 2025 surrounded by her loving family in Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Hargraves) Moran.

In her younger years she was raising a family, became a published poet, and worked as a professional cleaning lady, as well as a filler feeder at American Cigar and at Maui Cup.

In her later years, she enjoyed reading, especially Danielle Steele books, watching her favorite detective shows and doing brain thinking puzzle books.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her.  She enjoyed spending time with family always having a story to bring a smile and laugh to family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Linda Hoffman and husband Bob, Maryann Hoffman, Margaret Espinosa and husband Julio, Beverly Uding, Trevor Smith and wife Delphine, sisters, Julia  Dutter and Nora Lock, grandchildren, especially Manfred Uding III with who she resided, nieces, nephews, loving friends, and her beloved cats.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, Wilkes-Barre.
