A graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre, Ryan worked a successful career in sales, but anyone who knew him knew that his true calling was bringing people together. He was the life of every party, the spark behind every laugh, and the loudest voice in the room, especially when his New York Giants, Yankees, or Notre Dame were playing.

Whether he was throwing cornhole bags, flipping burgers, or cracking a one-liner, Ryan lived for making others smile. His joy was infectious, his loyalty unmatched, and his energy unforgettable.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Mooney,  beloved son, Tyler Mooney,  his mother, Connie Materna, father, Mike Mooney, stepfather, Joel Materna, his sisters, Mary Claire Materna and Brandis Dohman, his stepdaughters, Becky Shaver, Allison Novak, and Megan Novak, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

All who knew and loved Ryan are welcome to attend and celebrate the incredible life he lived Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, 617 Carey Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
