With heartfelt sorrow and enduring love, the family of Tammy Yvette Sapp-Davis announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at home in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Tammy was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, where her nurturing spirit and joyful heart began to take root. In the late 1980s, she married Donovan Davis and moved to Wilkes-Barre, where together they raised a strong and beautiful family. Tammy was the proud mother of six children and a beloved grandmother of five.
Once her youngest child began school, Tammy began her career in healthcare. She served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Valley Crest Nursing Home and later as a therapy nurse at Timber Ridge. For over 20 years, she poured her heart into caring for others, patients and coworkers alike became like family. Her warmth, laughter, and tireless compassion left an unforgettable mark in every life she touched.
After retiring from nursing, Tammy took on a new calling, becoming the devoted full-time caregiver to her husband. At the same time, she remained an active, loving presence in the lives of her grandchildren, taking them to school, helping with homework, and offering the same love and guidance she had always given to her own children.
Tammy was a natural homemaker and a phenomenal cook. Her home was the center of every family gathering, where holidays were celebrated with music, food, and joy. She loved to sing, dance, and find humor in everyday moments. Her favorite TV show was The Godfather of Harlem, and she enjoyed the soulful sounds of Whitney Houston and gospel music that uplifted her spirit.
Tammy was deeply spiritual. She was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church and once sang in the choir. In her later years, she found solace in worshipping at home, often turning to the Bible for strength during difficult times. Her faith was unwavering, and her heart was open, she gave generously, even when she had little to spare.
Though caregiving often came with sacrifice, Tammy gave everything she had out of love. As the years passed and the weariness grew, she continued to care for others without complaint. Now, her burdens have been lifted, and she rests in the peace and comfort of God’s eternal embrace. Her advice, her humor, her voice, and her love remain with us always.
Tammy is now reunited in eternal rest with her beloved mother, Emma Sapp Pearsall and a brother, Thomas Brown Jr. Though she has departed this life, her legacy of love, laughter, strength, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Tammy is survived by husband more than 42 years, Donovan Davis, Sr., loving children, Shakiki Henry, Shakiea Sapp, Tyisha Sapp, Donovan Davis, Jr., Devon Davis, and Miles Davis, cherished grandchildren, Kameliah, Lativea, Donovan, Redell, Jr., and Savannah, her devoted siblings, Pamela, Tanya, Lamarvin, Jeremy, and Obediah, by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
