Emma L. Kelly

Emma L. Kelly, 75, Luzerne, passed away peacefully Monday, June 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma Melski.    

She attended Philadelphia Schools, earned a nursing certification and had worked in nursing at the former Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre for several years.  She had also worked in the local garment industry with Roxanne Swimwear, Wilkes-Barre and later with Metz Food Service, Inc. and Aramark Food Service, Inc. in the cafeteria in the Wyoming Valley West School District for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Melski and a nephew, Georgie Melski.   

She will be sadly missed by her husband of more than 57 years, Dennis Kelly, a daughter, Katherine Dyanick, son, Dennis Kelly Jr, grandchildren, Joseph Sweeney and Morgan Kelly, sister, Helen Gorton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, Wilkes-Barre.
