Herbert Michael "Mike" Ciechoski, 88, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully at home on December 18, 2025.

Born in Lee Park, Hanover Twp., on August 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Adam and Elsie (Kissner) Ciechoski.

Following his graduation from Hanover Area High School in 1956, Mike gave up several chances to play college football, choosing instead to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge from the US Marines in 1959, he joined the Hanover Township Police Department, where he proudly served his community with dedication for 33 years. Always active and committed, he continued working as a security officer for Luzerne County until his full retirement in 2019.

Mike was known for his quick wit, kind heart, and generous spirit. He naturally cared for others and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A passionate sports fan, he loved the Miami Dolphins and St. Louis Cardinals, often taking trips with his children to support their favorite teams. Always by Mike's side, his Shih Tzu, Gizmo, brought him joy every day.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Ciechoski and Donald Ciechoski and a sister, Marlene Ciechoski.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Brown Ciechoski, children, Brian, Adam, and Maria Ramiza and husband Steven, cherished grandchildren, Gabrielle and Natalie,  He also shared close bonds with his extended family, all of whom held a special place in his life, including his sister-in-law Mary Payne and her late husband Barry, brother-in-law Mayor George Brown and his wife Marianne, and brother-in-law Don Brown and his wife Denise, along with his many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, for the care and compassion they provided Mike over the years.

Funeral services will be held Monday December 29 2025 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St Robert Bellarmine Church, Barney and Division Streets Wilkes-Barre.

A visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 AM until the mass time at the church.
